Marquee weddings are so popular and for good reason! When the weather is right, they can make for a stunning setting and create a real summer party atmosphere. For a lot of our customers, the hardest part of a marquee wedding is choosing the right venue. There are a lot of things to consider, so we’ve condensed them down into the points below:
Where will your marquee go?
It’s all well and good finding a great venue with enough space for your marquee, but you need to know where it will go. Ask the staff where they intend to place your marquee and see if it’s in a great location. It should be close to the main venue, meaning people can easily go inside if they need to freshen up in the toilet. Plus, it just needs to be in an attractive location not hidden away under trees etc.
Is there anything special about the venue?
You should look at your venue options and establish if there’s anything special about them. What you’re looking for is a venue that impresses people and leaves your guests open mouthed. You don’t want to host your wedding reception in a random field in the middle of nowhere. Sure, it’s spacious, but there’s nothing there that will wow your guests.
What’s the parking situation like?
Ideally, the perfect venue will have adequate parking facilities meaning your guests can find their way there and park their vehicles with no worries at all. The perfect venue has a car park that’s not too far away from the action either.
Is it child/elderly/disabled friendly?
You’ll have loads of different guests at your wedding and need to ensure your venue caters to them all. So, does it have any features that make it fit for kids, such as a play area? Is there disabled access for your elderly relatives in wheelchairs? If the answer to both questions is no, then it’s not the right venue for you.
How many staff does the venue employ?
Naturally, you want everything to run smoothly and rely on the venue’s staff to help with that. So, it’s crucial that you find out how many people they employ for wedding events like this. If they only use two or three people, then your wedding can get out of control pretty fast. You’re looking for a venue with loads of staff, meaning your guests are tended to at all times.
What’s the kitchen situation like?
If you’re also using the venue for catering, then you need to see the kitchen. Is it a modern and clean kitchen with good health & safety certificates and the highest food hygiene rating? Also, is the kitchen close to the marquee location and what does the food taste like? You need a kitchen that’s hygienic, close to the location, and serves delicious food.
Ask yourself all of these questions, and you’ll soon whittle away your options until you find the perfect wedding marque venue that satisfies everything. Now, set up your stunning marquee and get ready for the best day of your life!
