Party Planning with Lewis Marquees
Keep a checklist
Do you have a party to plan? Whilst planning a celebration can be exciting, it can also be overwhelming. Writing a checklist including everything you need to sort out is a great start to party planning. It will help you see the bigger picture and will alleviate stress as you tick off everything you need.
Create a guest list that blends
Putting a guest list together can be a tricky task. The very first question needs to be, how many people can your venue accommodate? Then onto who to invite. Should you not invite a particular person because they fell out with another guest at the last gathering? You’ll need to invite the correct group of friends and family that get along or invite enough people to dilute any potential friction. If you are inviting a big group of people to your party, we recommend a traditional marquee which can be 40ft wide!
Pick an extravagant theme
An extravagant theme is the best way to ensure your guests will never forget the party. If you’re feeling fancy, a Great Gatsby or 1920s theme gives you the opportunity to recreate Jay Gatsby’s excessive parties.
Another theme that always generates amazing costumes is “Things starting with a certain letter”. You could let people use the first initial of their own name or your name. There are infinite amounts of fun to be had with this theme! Spend some time on your theme, making sure your guests will feel comfortable getting dressed up in whatever theme you choose.
Pick out the best party decorations
When choosing your party decorations, ensure they fit your theme or colour scheme. You could do silver and gold for a sophisticated event or choose one colour to pull together a succinct theme. You could also fit decorations around the anniversary being celebrated if it’s a 21st or a 50th birthday party.
A marquee is the perfect space to pull together a themed party. You can add high-quality linings when hiring our marquees to give your space an atmosphere. Our LED starlight lining could be a great canvas for a space or starlit-themed party.
Alternatively, we can string up bunches of fairy lights across the marquee structure. Bunting and streamers can also be hung from our frame marquees to liven up your party space.
Arrange food and drink
You will need to decide what refreshments you want to serve your guests. A pagoda tent is the perfect place to set up a hog roast separate from your dance floor. You can also hire bars from us to serve drinks all evening and tables to place nibbles and drinks. Make sure to check out our sofa range so you can give your guests a comfortable area to rest!
Build up your music playlist
Perfecting the best music playlist can be difficult. If you don’t have much time to pick the best songs, you could ask a guest to cover this. Another great way to make up a playlist is to set up a Spotify playlist, let’s say “Michelle’s 30th”, and get guests to add their favourite dance songs.
Enjoy the event!
It’s easy to get stressed while organising a sizeable event, but once everything comes together you can finally enjoy yourself. While organising the party, try not to lose sight of why you’re doing it. This will keep you motivated as you plan all the little details and if you have any hitches along the way.
