Transforming a marquee into your dream venue is an exciting process. We understand that to achieve the best from your event you may have questions during the marquee hire process. This blog answers a few frequently asked questions that can help you start your event marquee planning journey.
Are marquees waterproof?
The answer is yes! Our traditional marquees are waterproofed to industry standards and our frame marquees are watertight. Our Frame marquees are perfect for any season as they can withstand strong wind speeds and snow loads, or the marquee walls can be detached for a summer event. Our luxury traditional marquees are best suited to spring and summer months. As marquees are temporary structures, they can be susceptible to extreme weather conditions.
What size marquee do I need?
When it comes to marquee size it all depends on your event. Marquee size will be based on the ground space available at your chosen venue, how many guests are attending and additional requirements such as a dance floor, bar or furniture. Our team will work with you and advise the best size option for your event during a site visit, so you can get the best from your marquee space.
Can you erect a marquee on a slope?
Yes, it is possible to erect a marquee on a slope. In extreme cases scaffolding can be erected to level out a slope and make a sturdy base for our marquees. Our frame marquees can be built on hard standing using water or concrete weights for ballast. Traditional marquees are not ideal for venues with uneven ground and cannot be built on hardstanding. During a site visit our team will be able to identify any potential issues and advise on best building methods.
