We take great pride in our heritage at Lewis Marquees.  Our Long history dates back to the mid 19th century when Lewis & Sons was a specialist rope and sack maker.  During the second world war they began to make tents for the military forming a close relationship with the local Admiralty and eventually settled as a specialist marquee company during the following years.  Lewis’ has been close to the hearts of many in the surrounding area for many years, indeed people come to visit us still to reminisce about their wedding or party, some as far back as the 50’s and 60’s. The company provided the marquees for the 1965 film ‘Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines’ as you can see in the image above.  Lewis’ had a long standing relationship making bell tents for the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts during the 20th century and some of our history, having been based in Emsworth since the beginning, is still featured in the Emsworth museum to this day.

Nick Minkley still makes our Marquees in the way they have always been (with a few modern updates of course!)  and is able to create a truly unique and bespoke tent for you.  Call us on 01243 372242 for more details.
